Roshani- Women Empowerment Initiative

Various studies, as well as our experience, have shown that an Empowered women, benefits the whole society. But unfortunately in India, far from empowering women, most are denied even their basic rights like health, education, financial independence etc.

According to various Reports, India has a imbalanced sex ratio, the chief reason being rampant female infanticide and sex-selective abortions. Also in the workforce though female workers have significant contribution but they are not respected in terms of monetary payout and other benefits.

Project Roshani address these challenges through a simple yet effective approach. The programme is specifically aimed at realization of both individual and collective self-esteem and inner strength for marginalised and socially excluded women  through innovative community practices.

The programme identifies women from the community (who are college dropouts, widow, single mother, human traffic victim belongs to BPL category etc.), provides a livelihood and entrepreneurship training, not only to become a self-reliant but also providing the opportuinties for other.
